FAQ

Questions — & the answers.

Is this therapy?

No. I am not a therapist. aQuietSpace is not therapy. It is a place to sit with what you're carrying — not to be diagnosed, fixed, or treated. If you need therapy, seek professional help. This is something else.

What happens to what I type?

Nothing leaves your device. aQuietSpace does not store your conversations on any server, and no one — including me — ever reads them. However, your own browser keeps a local copy so you can pick up where you left off if you return to the same door. Tap "Start fresh" inside any conversation (at the top right), or clear your browser's data, and it's gone for good.

Does anyone else see what I type?

No conversation is stored on any server that I control, and I never read them. But it's fair to be precise: your messages pass through the AI service that powers this space (the same kind of infrastructure any AI tool uses) to generate a reply, and that service may briefly process the request to do so. Nothing is saved there for later reading, and nothing is used to identify you. The only lasting copy is the one your own browser keeps, as explained above.

Who built this?

My name is Gilbert Simba. I also go by Morangi. I built aQuietSpace out of my personal experiences and the knowledge I gained from reading books, sermons, seminars, meditation, self-reflection, and quiet conversations with people who said the right thing at the right time, often without knowing it. I wanted to build something that could do a little of that for someone else, whenever they needed it.

What is this thing that answers back — AI?

Yes, you are absolutely right. This site is powered by AI. It is more or less the same kind that powers tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, or Kimi. But here, it is not trying to be clever, fast, or useful in the usual ways. I have built, instructed, and guided it to do one thing: sit with you. Ask. Listen. Stay.

Can I trust aQuietSpace with something this personal?

That is a good and wise question to ask. aQuietSpace cannot relate to you as a human being can. It cannot truly understand you. The good thing is, it cannot judge you, betray you, or grow tired of you. In some instances, that is exactly what makes it safe.

Does using aQuietSpace create any kind of professional relationship?

No. Nothing said here — by me or by the space itself — is medical, legal, psychological, or professional advice. Talking with aQuietSpace does not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, or any other professional relationship. It's a reflective space, not a service in that sense. Decisions you make in your life are yours to make, ideally with the support of people and professionals qualified to help with your specific situation.

Should I treat what aQuietSpace says as fact or advice?

No. Treat it the way you'd treat a thoughtful conversation with a stranger — worth hearing, not worth following blindly. It can be wrong, incomplete, or off-base, especially on anything factual, medical, legal, or financial. Don't make important decisions based on what it says without checking with someone qualified first.

What if I'm in a crisis?

aQuietSpace is not built for emergencies, and it can't replace real, immediate help. If you're having thoughts that border on suicidal, or you're in danger right now, please reach a real person: in Kenya, Befrienders Kenya (+254-722-178-177, Mon–Fri 9am–5pm) or the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation's 24-hour line (0800 723 253) can help, or go to your nearest hospital. Wherever you are in the world, findahelpline.com can point you to a helpline near you, day or night. Reaching out is never a burden. That's exactly what these lines exist for.

Is this for minors / children?

aQuietSpace is not for anyone under 18. It carries adult weight — things carried alone for years, often without anyone knowing. If you are under 18 and stumbled onto this place, please don't decide alone whether it's right for you. Share it with a parent, guardian, or another adult you trust, and let them help you decide. This space is not a substitute for the people meant to walk beside you at your age.

Is aQuietSpace free?

Free forever — coffee accepted. Personally, I believe that needing someone to sit with you should not cost anything. If aQuietSpace ever grows into something that requires resources, the core experience will remain free. That is non-negotiable. However, if you would like to buy Gilbert a coffee, you are welcome here.

What if aQuietSpace says something wrong?

It might. aQuietSpace is not perfect. It may be guided by a human spirit, yet it's not human. Honestly, even we humans are not perfect. If something feels off, unhelpful, or harmful — close the tab. Walk away. Trust yourself above any tool, including this one.

Can I share this with someone?

Please do. If you know someone carrying something alone, send them the link — https://gilbertsimba.com — quietly. A little caution though: some people take things personally, even when you mean well.

Could this site change or disappear?

Yes. aQuietSpace is one person's work, not a company with guarantees. Doors may change, the site may evolve, and I can't promise it will always look exactly like it does today. What I can promise is that I won't take it down carelessly — this space matters too much for that.

What if I want something removed, or have a concern about privacy or safety?

Reach me directly on WhatsApp: https://wa.me/254734616868. If you have a concern — about privacy, safety, something that felt wrong, or anything else — tell me plainly. I will take it seriously and respond as a person, not a policy.

What if I have a question you didn't answer?

You can reach me on WhatsApp: https://wa.me/254734616868. I read every message. I may not reply quickly — I am one person — but I read them.
