My View

My View

Doubt, failure, and the fear of failing again. Those arise — the way vapor forms on a window. Real enough to obstruct. Real enough to wipe. But they are not the glass. They are not the view. They are not what's seeing.

There is a foundation prior to all of it. Not something I found. Not something I earned by thinking my way there. I am that, and everything else — the doubt, the failure, the vapor — follows from it and never touches it.

This isn't something to be convinced of. It's something to be seen. Once it's seen, even without agreement, even without belief, the rest doesn't need arguing with. It just fades — the way vapor clears when you keep seeing.

That is what I stand on.

What clears is not me. It is the self that grips — that defends, performs, needs to win the argument even with itself. What remains when that clears is not nobody. It is still me — doing the work, raising my daughters, building this — just no longer white-knuckling the wheel.

Some call it God. Some call it soul, or spirit. Some call it the unified field, or the field of all possibilities. I don't claim these words all mean the same thing, or that everyone reaching for them arrives at the same room. But something in each of them points past argument, toward a ground that doesn't need to be won by thinking. That pointing is what I recognize. Use whichever word actually opens something for you.

"I am who I am." Exodus 3:14

"God, or Nature." Spinoza, Ethics — Deus sive Natura

"I believe in Spinoza's God, who reveals himself in the lawful harmony..." Albert Einstein, 1929

"None can touch the ground of the soul but God only." Meister Eckhart, Sermon 1

"...the unbroken wholeness of the totality of existence." David Bohm, Wholeness and the Implicate Order

"That thou art." Chandogya Upanishad, Hindu Vedanta

These voices don't all say the same thing, and I don't read them as if they did. Some point at a ground beneath the self. None of them stand where Christ stands — "I and my Father are one" was his to say, not mine to borrow. What I take from each is a different angle on the same quiet: that there is more holding me than what I did or failed to do.
